AN UPSTATE LOVE AFFAIR

Emily and Matt were a breath of fresh New York air for this soul. Matt, being a close cousin of a very dear friend of mine Jessica Ofalt Brass (Commondove Photography), was one of four boys, and the first to be married! This romantic day was set on the Ofalt family farm, nestled in the rolling hills of Amish country in upstate New York. The roads wind and twist over the hills and last as far as the eye could see. I felt as though I had been transported back in time, as I passed the horse drawn carriages being driven by children no older than 13. It was as if I had been let in on a beautiful secret, a place where time stood still, where the trees swayed in the breeze, the simple hand sewn dresses flapped in the wind on the manmade lines, the crickets sang and the fireflies danced at nightfall in the fields surrounding the tent.
The day and night was filled with laughter, tears of joy, tractors, guns, quite a few strong drinks and a few pups roaming the farm as the wedding day commenced. It couldn't have been a more special day, and I was honored to be asked to document it for them. I love to travel, and I am so happy I can check upstate New York off my list of beautiful places I have seen.
